thinking about going all lane masters
« on: May 16, 2009, 04:25:31 AM »
I made a change in pro shops this year and am more then satisfied with the fit but this also meant all the stuff I had drilled just wont work for me (drastic pitch changes)

so with that being said I have been looking at all the balls I have tried over the years and said to myself I have only owned one bowling ball that seemed to work just so well that I cant see myself selling it and that ball is the:

BUZZ!

I have tried it polished at various levels and even down to just grey scotchbrite and it seems to cover just about everything but the extremes. it just always finishes!

so now im thinking if it was that much better then the 10-12 other balls ive had why not just start over and make a lanemasters arsenal?

I was thinking:

BUZZ and sand it to either 2000 abralon OR hit it with maroon followed by grey scotchbrite. (cuz at grey I remember it hooking on just about anything and had a very secure read of the mids)

then above that would be either a black pearl or black pearl reactive.

so thats:

buzz
BP or BPR

what else should I look at? maybe a hornet or just something else for lighter stuff?

ive also seen the bowlingballmall has a lot of their older stuff as well so if anyone thinks those are better choices id try them.

im just not used to particle balls and wonder if I buy a particle ball if I could alter the coverstock without killing the reaction.

The BUZZ,IMHO is one of the best balls ever.
I just can't seem to leave in the bag, I try but it just finds the pocket.
Good luck in finding a NIB, Bowlingballmall is a good choice, Pat will take care of you.
Why LM stopped making it, is another topic.

IMHO - for an all LM lineup that gives different looks w/out you seeing a flood of oil in your area:

Hornet
Buzz
WC/R
BRB
TR
BP.
The Gathering 2014 is near.  July 25-27 in Winston Salem, NC @ Creekside lanes.

thanks.

right now im going to start with:

buzz
black pearl

i dont want to get ball crazy again. this time im going to buy as i see the need for one as i come across a condition that the balls i currently have wont work on.

now all I have to do is decide on the surface i want the buzz at.

Since you already have the Buzz, you can't really go wrong by making-up a small arsenal made up of the Insect Line + a spare ball.  By adding the Hornet and Sting you should be able to handle the whole spectrum of oil.

i made the change over a year ago and glad it did! it helped a higher rev guy like me get a easy to read consistent look on the lanes. very very few ten pins compared to other stuff i was throwin.

I have a Hornet,Buzz,Sting lineup and it covers a lot of conditions.Take a look at the ball reaction chart on the website and you will see the range. The Hornet carries the world when thrown on the right condition. It's as good as the Buzz in my opinion.
