We all like to have a wdie selection, but the problem, I believe, becomes one of sales. Most sales for any company comes from Pro Shops. Lanemasters being a smaller company can have a hard time getting a "foot in the door", so to speak. When a Lanemasters representative comes to a pro shop to explain their line-up or even if the distributor gets a pro shop a few balls at a low cost to get on thr pro shops bbowling ball display, if the pro shop guys do not know the line up well to give bowlers a chance to use these new balls, the grass roots will not and cannot support further growth.

Having such a long list of balls from such a small company can easily confuse even the sharpest bowling mind, in which Brunswick, Columbia, Ebonite, etc. already safely reside. Remember that few bowlers are actually on the internet, learnign and discovering about these great new balls. Maybe 95% or more get their info from the pro shop guys and drillers. Word of mouth always helps, but people rely on the pro shop or seeing good high average bowlers use their balls often and readily.

I will have to agree with Charlest all the way on what he says here. There are several bowling houses within 30-45 minutes of where I live and I see exactly what Charlest has said here. Although there may be another or so, I see only one that is active in selling/promoting L/LM balls and of coarse that one is a staff member.

Even here, the success to get people to try these balls is slow. I am an excellent example of that. I have resisted trying these balls since the day the staff member's pro shop started carring them. Sales have been slow on them to others, but in watching the people that did have the courage to try them (some are on my teams) all I can say is "WOW". The hit, carry, pin mix, flying scouts, etc. is unbelieveable. I could no longer contain myself and I've had to make myself "give in" and try one of these balls.

My first one (World Class Particle for synthetic lanes) is supposed to arrive at the pro shop this week and if I have success with it, my next ball will be the World Class Reactive at the suggestion of Galen, for the wood lanes.

To sum it up, it is tough for any new company to "get their foot in the door", even if they have a top notch quality product. As you can see from what I have written here, I am an example of getting people to try/use these balls. I have resisted trying them until now. Where I bowl, others success with these balls has caught my attention and if they work well for me, my success will catch others attention. In time it will grow and as success spreads, I think business will grow much faster for L/LM balls.

My guess is that the Kong, Big Kahuna, Yeah Baby, Satisfaxion, and Guaranteed will all be goners. The AP and AP2 might be gone as well.

There will be bowlers that bowl where I bowl that will cry if they discontinue the Yeah Baby and Satisfaction.

Legends/Lane Masters put out great equipment.  Myself I'm not afraid to try anything, as long as I have the money.  I have had 4 different L/L balls, and all of them were excellent.

I was skeptical at first, but I was also skeptical of Lane 1....so there you go

No idea what my point was lol.

Personally I haven't had much luck with LaneMasters/Legends Equipment. That being said I can't knock them for attempting to keep up with the Jones, the Columbias, etc. by offering an overally expanded line up of reactions. My feeling is that we have seen the same market grab from every company with the possible exception of Visionary. Companies that have attempted to calm the market by offering one or two releases per year seem, to get swallowed and eaten.

As long as ball junkies like us continue to anxiously await the latest and greatest same reaction that we already own, the over realease from all manufacturers will never stop. Somebody help us! Is there a ball counseler in the house!!

Talked to a guy in a pro shop here in Sweden who imports L/L balls and according to him L/L isn't gonna discontinue any balls at all.  He said that if you want a New Standard 2 ball or any other L/L ball ten years from now you'll be able to get it from L/L..
