OOB surface
« on: November 08, 2006, 01:09:32 PM »
I currently have 5 L/LM balls. Since I might start messing with the covers a bit I am curious as to what the OOB surface is on each so I can restore if necessary.

World Class
World Class Reactive
Big Bang
Terminator
Masterpiece

Thanks.

I have spoken more than once with Galen on this subject, and although I always  recommend an email or call to him when people have questions, I know that all of those that you listed have a "grit finish" of 800 gray scotchbrite, as well as a coat of polish if that is what the ball is OOB when you get it.
The sequence to get them there, as well as a link with ball descriptions (page 11 of 12) are below:

http://marketing.lanemasters.com/Catalogs/LM_BallCatalog_06.pdf

1- 400 wet sand
2- 800 wet sand
3- 800 gray scotchbrite pad
4- coat of Factory Finish polish (for the resin part of the cover)
5- again, 800 wet sand
6- again, 800 gray pad (steps 5 & 6 are used to "raise" the particles)
7- then, a coat of Legends "FF" polish (WCR, MP, Terminator)
* The SHEEN finish for the others is accomplished when step 6 is completed *

Any questions ???
