surface change help
« on: November 18, 2006, 01:28:42 PM »
Hi all, for the life of me I can never change the covers on the particle L&LM bowling balls. They seem to be EXTREEMLY hard. If anyone has had luck with doing this your input would be highly appreciated! Mainly sanding...polishing doesn't seem to be a problem. I do use abralon pads (360-4000 grit) depending. I tried to scuff a Yeah Baby down to 360 for my uncle who has no hand...lol...and couldn't even tell I did it. Thanks guys!!!

Joe,
My pro shop guys have done mine and seemly with good results so far (as far as I can tell, at least); I DO know that they're hard ... you may want to contact Galen Gentry at Legends and ask to speak with their "shop" guys since they do the most work on them.

I've used sandpaper, nylon pads and Abralon pads without any problems. I can tell I've changed them by the ball reaction change. Since you're a pro shop guy, you must be using a spinner; not sure why your covers do not change????
They seem no more difficult than any other ball to me.
