Title: XS Power & World Class Particle pearl
Post by: mrbowlingnut on November 12, 2007, 02:56:23 PM
For my west coast br members Steve Cook's supply in Sacramento has just got in the XS Power and World Class Particle Pearls.

I have wcpp on the way from my pro shop and next month will get the XS Power, i give up on getting a good deal on a sting since nobody wants too part with them cheap enough.

Sooooooo, tell me about the World Class Particle Pearl.  As strong as the RG Mystic?  What kind of ball motion?  I need a partcile pearl for carry down and playing later shifts.

Yeah! I received my two WCPP and two XS Power in today! I think I might put one of each back with my two stashed Conquerers. Just too many decisions to make! I've been rolling the Yeah Baby and Kong to good lately to drill one yet! If I give in to temptation I'll post the reaction, I drill my Sure Strike similar to the Rico, pin center of grip and it really rolls great! Thanks, Bruce

I am interested in one of your 15 lb. Conquerers (with not less than 3.0 oz. Top) if you are selling. Please PM me with the price. Thanks!

I'd want a pin up on a Hornet Barry.

Sooooo, inquiring minds still want to know about the WCCP.  Looking for a particle pearl for drier heads that I can move in with on some carry down.

I highly doubt you need a pin up Hornet, but i have 3 other offers and waited to see if you wanted it first. Dont say i did not warn you about the length of the ball in the first place.

WCPP is going to need oil, i doubt it will be a dryer head ball for me i bowl on alot of oil my step down stuff is Fury Pearl and Black Widow Pearl not weak stuff.
I have more hand than you think i do but it more forward roll and about 290-300 rpm's with medium -high ball speed.

I usually have to start with an Attitude Shift or Infinite One because the oil is pretty heavy lately, they used Cheetah one week and when we all shots lights out it went away that fast one week.

np.  I have a friend who is using a pin up Hornet. I've been able to throw it...suits what I am looking for on fried heads.  I have more axis rotation and tilt than many.  Medium speed and rev dominant......do not use a forward roll when inside of 15 at the arrows normally.

You try that Anger yet?

Anger nope keep forgetting about it honestly, if i remember i will try it tonight.

I wish i got too bowl on fried lanes, at South Point over the summer i used the Hornet in game 3 about 7-8 games or a Scorcher NPT which is normally my spare ball.

I am asking good money for the Hornet anyway not giving it away, so i might end up keeping it the ball is not cheap by any means.

One more thing i will not have the WCPP until monday Cook's sent a WCR instead, i think he needs guys that can read boxes better.

I do bowl league monday night and will try it then if it arrives here in Vegas on monday.

Shot 300 last night with my XS Power during my Monday Mixed League.
I have been expermenting with the surface.  I tried it box, then polished.
Last night I hit it with 1000 grit and I got the roll, hold, hit and carry I was looking for.  Played up the 8 and 12 board all night.  This ball hits just as hard as my Sting and the surface is super friendly.

Nice rolling robo!  Where in the ball line up do you put the XS Power?  Stronger than...weaker than?

Scott,

Here's a link to a post I made earlier this month, it is a quick comparison between the WCPP and BP.

Hope it's useful.

The XS Power in my Bench mark ball.
Definately not as strong as my Sting, which needs oil even when polished.
Stronger with more mid-lane roll than my Sure Strike.
Hits just as hard as the Sting without the particle load.

robo,

XS Power about the same strength as The Buzz?  More rolly I assume?

Definitely more rolly and mid-lane read than the Buzz.  I've had a Buzz and the XS Power is more consistent, controllable and handles any carry down.

I threw the WCPP last night in warmup and had to knock off the factory polish to get the ball to even wrinkle, i hit it with burgandy pad lightly it was really shiny more so than the photo's on the site show.

Drilled 4 1/2 pin to pap under my ring, cg above my thumb hole no weight hole ball is mellow in my hands even with surface. My Attitude Shift since that was mentioned before hooked circles around this ball and was perfect for the nice oily shot i am seeing.

But in the defense of the WCPP it would be a great medium ball, i let a cranker next to me use it when his ball got stuck below the ball return floor when a pin shot through the chute. He was lefty mind you and low track at that but in his hands even with what would be a 6 1/2 pin or more, the ball turned like bat out of he11.

So it was more ball than my Fury Pearl at 2k no polish same drilling but not even close to the Attitude Shift with same pin to pap and mb below my thumb and right one inch which is probably 6 1/4 inches or so to pap.

So if you have friction or alot of hand yes might be good oob, i will need more time with this new ball it is going to be Burgandy on low speed no polish.

Very pretty ball and hit hards when you have the revs to get it back like the lefty cranker can.

How does it compare to the Black Pearl for mediums? Does the BP handle more oil? I read that these two are close in reaction but I like to hear from someone who have used them both. Thanks!

BTW, I have read Pat's review of both but I was hoping that you can provide another insight before I decide on one of these balls.

I did not have the BP with me, if i had the WCPP on my pair it would have been a perfect transition ball to be honest.

I let the other bowler on a pair next to me use the ball, it was hard to watch a 180 bowler have 85 in the 8 th before i handed him the ball to use.

I will retest the stock never touched BP versus the WCPP with burgandy pad head up on friday for something to do after thanksgiving.

Again somebody like Scotts33 with more revs probably would be able to use this ball the whole set, with my ball roll i needed help.

I look forward to your retest results. Thanks for taking the time.

Got the XSpower finally i am liking these ball alot already hits hard does not leave me 10 pins much, my standard pin under ring 4 1/2 drilling and cg stacked about 2 1/4 below no weighty.

It hooks less than my pin up Anger but the control of this ball is perfecto, a true reading solid reactive do not waste you money spending on another ball companies high end this will do the job right for under 200 drilled and hook plenty at that.

btw i hit the cover with 1k no polis after reading the bruns55 post, yes it is little long with that standard lanemasters finish. 1k or grey pad is what i think most will like and high rev guys probably 2k.
