COMMENTS
Purchased ball on April 21, 2012.  Used it on my THS, on this pattern I was able to play up around 8-9 board at 40’ and was able to get the ball to the pocket rather easily. The Torment is drilled 60* x 5-1/2” x 35* which places the pin above the middle finger and the CG ½” right of the grip centerline, ¼” above the midline and no Weight Hole. Box condition is 4000 abralon, but I took it down to 2000 abralon with an old’ish pad which is probably around 3000 abralon.

I was surprised at how much this balls hooks on the backend for a ball which for me I would not think it would backend as much due to such a long pin-to-pap for my style(5-1/2”). The ball had very easy length and pretty aggressive backend recovery, which is good to see but I was hoping this ball would be my go-to ball for the Open Championship in May 2012 as a ball that would be tamer at the breakpoint.

I may tinker with the coverstock for now, maybe apply some polish to see what type of look it has. My home center is suppose to apply the Open Championship pattern down one more time before I leave to bowl it, so I will report out then. For those of you who know my reviews of Lane Masters bowling balls, in comparison the Torment for me performed very similarly to the LM Buzz Attack which was a benchmark ball for me for a very long time.

Overall, a promising addition from Lord Fied Bowling.

Likes: The Torment has easy length.

Dislikes: None, ball is gorgeous!

Torment
Specs:
Weight: 15.02lbs
Top: 3oz
Pin: 3-1/4
Layout:
Pin to PAP: 6
CG to PAP: 4/3/4

Review:
The Torment is suppose to Lordfield's bottom end ball but this ball is stronger than you think. Even with a simple bulb shape core, the cover gives this ball a strong midlane and arcing backend. Since i knew this from consulting with others, i decided to drill the Torment with a long pin to pap of six inches to help generate lope down lane which is exactly how this ball rolls for me. As you can see in the picture, i polished the Torment with two coats of Motiv polish before throwing it. I was able to play up the track and out the whole time with this ball. I didn't get much over reaction until the heads started to burn up. My adjustments were to make zonal moves and start to give the ball tilt so it can get through the front and still make a move on the backend. The driving finish on the backend is incredible like no other ball on the market. It's very different and distinctive.  ;)

This is one of the weaker balls out of the line up in my opinion, but it reads the mid lane almost better than anything else I have. The 4000 Abralon finish allows the ball to get traction early, but the core doesn’t take over too much on the back end. Very smooth transition, and very predictable. This is a great ball to ball down too after a few games when you still want to get carry after moving further inside. Very excited to get to use this ball more on burnt out tournament conditions. A little polish makes the backend reaction a tad more angular.

Likes:   Pin high layout to help with length.  My home house tends to break down quickly so I wanted something to go long with a controlled arcing back end.  That is exactly what I have in this ball.  Deeper into the 4th through 6th game of an event, I can go to this ball and keep a relatively tight line, 8 to 10 board swing, and this ball sends pins straight back.  Do not get this ball too wide in this layout as the recovery will not be there.  If the ball does get back to the pocket, it will be light and weak hitting.

Dislikes:  No dislikes at this time
