Korrupt and Big Hurt
« on: April 17, 2013, 03:24:36 PM »
On Monday, I received my Korrupt and Big Hurt and got lucky enough to drill and test them out. I wanted both balls to compliment each other and be able to work on multiple types of patterns.

Korrupt:
Specs: 15.04lbs, 2.96 pin, 2.6 top
Pin to PAP: 5-1/4
MB to PAP: 4
Weight Hole: None
Big Hurt:
Specs: 15.04lbs, 4 pin, 2.5 top
Pin to PAP: 5-1/2
CG to PAP: 4-1/2
Weight Hole: None

Review:
Lane: AMF Synthetics
Lane Pattern: Kegel Turnpike

I tested the Korrupt first on the fresh and i was amazed that it reved up very early and had a continuous motion down lane. I had to keep my angles really straight focusing on working the outside of the pattern around 8,9,10 to break it down. Anything outside 7 is practically OB. I treated this like nationals. I really like practicing on tight pattern that forces your to play straight and move in slowly as they breakdown. My carry was good until the lanes broke down and i started going flat 10. I then switch to the Big Hurt and this is where i saw the difference. The big Hurt was clean up front, strong in the mids and had a continuous angular arc on the backend. I was very impress how this ball rolls. I get about 5 to 6 flare rings with good separation between each ring. I played the same line as the Korrupt using an up the back release then switch to putting tilt to see what is does. The Big Hurt was sharper off the spot after switching releases and moving in at the same time. The recovery is like no other. This is the type of shape and look i was waiting for LF to come out with. I went back to the Korrupt and did the same thing trying different releases and it was pretty responsive but had the similiar look due to the layout. So far i feel these two go hand in hand. The next time i practice, i will alter the surface since i am not a fan of the factory surfaces these balls come in and see how they roll on another pattern i will try the following week. I'll keep you guys updated how it goes.
