Title: LF/LM recommendations
Post by: brianjbell on September 08, 2015, 10:30:11 AM
All, just joined up the LF/LM amateur staff.  Looking for recommendations for the first 3 balls I should look into getting.  I'm RH bowler, rev dominant with 14-15 MPH speed.  Trying to find my drill sheet now for PAP info.  Typically bowl on either Kegel Stone Street at the local AMF house or a modified Kegel 41' house shot at an old Brunswick (now private) center.  Any and all recommendations would be good.  Currently using Brunswick Loaded Revolver, MoRich LevRG Response and MoRich MOjave.

I'm not too familiar with LM/LF, but since youre new to the amateur staff, I think the best thing that you can do is maybe talk to a representative who can look at your game and recommend you some equipment since they know you best. Or email the company directly with your pap and other info and they would know best what to set you up with.

I was thinking exactly that Joker. What kind of staff contract doesn't offer at least minimal support of this type?

I'm not on staff but have some familiarity with several of their balls.

I'd suggest the Buzz Legend (great ball for medium-light to medium oil) and the Terminator Juggernaut (medium-heavy to heavy oiler) as basic essentials.

The Power Strike is a great control ball for medium oil.
The Black Pearl is a good length/strong backend kind of pearl for mediums.
Haven't thrown the new Yeah Baby or the new Buzz Attacks yet.

I was on staff not too long ago, I have a few 16lbs fs if interested. Power Strike Hybrid is a wonderful piece, probably my favorite. Also have a G2 and Yeah Baby looking to get rid of and get some newer stuff in. Also got to say some of the guys on staff are very critical and wont help you, as to the reason I left staff. I wont mention names, you'll figure whom im talking about.

What are the perks for being on their staff? Do you really save that much money on a ball because quite honestly I think they're overpriced as is? Not trying to start an argument just seeing if there is a major benefit for being on a so called staff.

exactly, if youre on staff, wouldn't the company want to introduce to you some equipment so you can "show it off" to other bowlers? Seems like poor business strategy to me. But as someone posted above, not very helpful and even a reason to leave. Sounds like the company needs to reshape themselves.

Thanks for the replies.  I'm getting all of my data together to ship over for help with ball selection, was mainly looking more for input from other staffers/users of the LF/LM gear to see what's hot and what's not.  Thanks again.

The Power Strike is my favorite ball right now. I've used in diff patterns on the 37'-40' range from THS to Non-THS patterns. On diff. Bruns/AMF surface types as well. And yes, for more info. ask the higher up that are on staff for advice.

I have been using the new Bloody Cross Royal and it is a great rolling ball with a Strong hit with good carry on a THS. I am a 65 yr old stroker with less that average revs and about 17mph of my hand. Layout is 50 x 3-3/8 x 25 which is my sweet spot.
I have been using Motiv for the last 2 years and was happy with them but I wanted to try Lord Field so far so good... So try the Bloody Cross Royal and you will not be disappointed.
