Dynorooz Sole Removal
« on: July 21, 2006, 11:18:27 AM »
I just replaces my Dexter SST7's with the Sport Elite Cabretta.

Is there a trick to removing the sole without damaging the shoe? Maybe because they are new but it seems like they will require brute force to remove.

Thanks!

Mine required quite a bit of force to change.  I played with it when I first got it, changing them and ended up putting the original one back on.  You want a lot of force to remove the sole, as it will keep the thing on better when you're actually wearing them and sliding.

If the Cabrettas came with the metal pick (I think it's the cleat pick, so maybe not), you can use that to pry up an edge.  Do the Cabrettas have a ring of felt around the outside (i.e., the replaceable part doesn't cover 100% of the sole)?  If so, it's tough.  If not, then you should be able to get it started at the very edge.

Yes, ring of felt.  I was just curious if I'd break them before I ever got on the lanes with them.

Thanks!

Well, if it's the same velcro on the Tour Ultras, then you won't hurt them.  They are velcroed on good, though, huh?

yea, mine are the strongest velcro bond ive ever felt, including on custom knive sheaths(expencive and strong) id say almost 2x more force than my sst6lx for the sole and maby more for the heels. but i love the shoes! i have the black tour ultras btw.
