Ball Selection - Light Oil
« on: September 04, 2010, 03:02:14 PM »
I started a league last week and ran across a VERY light/low volume pattern.  By the second game, my equipment was virtually unusable so I switched to my plastic ball.  I lost all carry with the plastic and ended up shooting at 7 pins and 10 pins the rest of the night.  It became apparent that I have a need for something just above the plastic ball.  Right now my "weak" ball is a clutch pearl at 4k abralon w/ polish.

I'm on the fence between finding an "old" reactive..i.e. something from the mid-90's like one of the Triton's, older Zone, etc...   or possibly picking up on of the current entry level balls.  Either way, I want something with a "real" core to give me a little hitting power.

Which would be your preference (old or new) and specifically, which ball would you choose?

This is sort of a poll post, but may give me some ideas on the direction to go.

Thanks,
