infernos=light oil?
« on: November 26, 2005, 12:10:59 PM »
i recently made a thread about wat the best light oil ball is, many people said that the smokin, blazing and intense inferno are good in light oil, is this true? i always thought all the infernos (expect the ultimate) were medium oil balls

I have seen every ball in the Inferno line thrown. Together, they would make one hell of a great arsenal. Here are the conditions that I believe the various infernos can be used on:

Heavy: Dull Ultimate, dull Raging
Medium-heavy: Polished Ultimate, Absolute, Original, Raging
Medium: Polished Ultimate, Absolute, Original, Raging, Blazing, Smokin', Intense
Medium-light: Polished Absolute, Polished Original, Blazing, Smokin' Intense
Light: Blazing, Intense, Smokin'

The only ones that I've found that will work on truly light oil will be the Blazing (regular or hard), Intense and Smokin'. The Blazing is the smoothest of the three. It will skid through oil and give a strong but controllable arc when it hits the dry.

The Intense will go even further down the lane, but it reacts much harder at the breakpoint.

The Smokin' will want to roll the earliest of the three, and the move at the breakpoint is still pretty sharp.

Of the three, I would go with a Blazing. I think the ball was very overlooked.

Well, in regard to the Smokin', I was referring to people with faster speed and fewer revs. That ball does not seem to like oil. It will react sharp and hard when it encounters friction, but every one that I've seen is just skid, skid, skid through the sauce.

The Smokin' is great in oil and or fresh shots with stripped backends, it is horrible in carrydown, it burns up BAD.
