By now you can see that there are differing opinions on this subject. I'm going to give you mine. Depends on the speed you throw. If you're capable of throwing 17+ mph, go with 15 lb. If you're limited (as I am) to less than 14 mph, go with 16 lb. Don't ask me why I'm so limited, I don't know. I just know that no matter how hard I try to throw the ball it still comes out 13 - 14 mph on the Qubica readout, while others throw 16 - 18 seemingly with no effort. The extra pound gives me a little more hitting power at the speed I throw. -- JohnP
Added on edit: By the way, I'm 6'5" and about 280lbs. 58 (almost 59) years old.

it seems like i have more control on my 15 lb ball then my 16s. i have a cleaner relese. I know a guy that teaches me throws 15s and he said ther is no need to swing the ball 30 boards. he said u only need 7 boards of hook to score good. hes a down and in stroker very consistant player. Also i know others that perfer 15s over 16s both down and in players too, and i know there strong enough to throw 16s. I just would like to find out what works the best for me before i buy 4 new balls
