Crack
« on: September 04, 2007, 06:19:52 PM »
I have a crack on the bridge of one of my bowling balls. My driller aid I could put a little super glue in the crack. Does this stop the crack from spreading? I could get the fingers plugged but would rather wait and see if the crack will spread. Would it be alright to put a bit of super glue?

If it is just the bridge, it will not spread because it is just from the tension between the holes, or the ball got an unlucky hit just at this location. If the holes are very close together, this happens quite often.

Nevertheless, you should make sure to have it repaired, because it is a weak spot in the surface, even though no further cracks around the ball are to be expected. But another bad hit there, and chunks/chips of the bridge could break away or you might find fine ring cracks around the finger holes.

Super glue should be fine for the moment, but keep an eye on it. If it breaks up again you should consider a plug of the area and redrill the ball.

Yeah, I'll get the fingers plugged as soon as I can.
