Title: 2 handers are getting no love??
Post by: xrayjay on September 22, 2014, 06:19:37 PM
In the last few months since my return to bowling, being away for over a year, I've been reading negatives on social media and other forums about 2 hand bowling - a lot of haters. Or like, there's a tourney in which no two handed bowlers are allowed to bowl.

honestly, I don't get it. what's the big deal?

Come on Jay, you ask this like you've never been around bowlers before.  We bitch anc complain, it's just what we do. If there were no two-handers, then it would be the no-thumbers, the wrist brace wearing old guys, the house hacks, etc., etc. ;D ;D

Milo...good one! :D

I love bowling, but I can't stand some bowlers with all their bitching.

-lane condition is making me leave 10 pins dropping my average.
-MY LOCKER IS TOO CLOSE TO THE FRONT DOOR! (this was the first for me to hear)
-guy who misses the spot down lane and complains he can't carry.

The only thing I've complained about recently, was hard pretzels and AC not working properly. lol my solution to this, I'm bringing a fan with me. I'm not waiting for the AC to work next week, so I'm bringing a backup. And stay away from pretzels and eat more healthier lol

2 handers are the worst.

I love watching two handers and I am getting around to doing some on the right side(my natural side) soon!

IT is no-thumb on steroids!

The difference between bowlers and tennis players is obvious.  The Two-handed back hand is now so accepted that almost no parent or coach would think of starting their son or daughter with a one handed back hand!  Why give them a less powerful less versatile shot.  No bitching no complaining just acceptance that it is a better way to play!  Oh those tennis parents...smart, practical, I love it!

As a father of two boys who toss two handed one of them a quite high average fellow, I can assure you this parent appreciates the watching of these awesome powerhouse blows to the pins!

What I don't appreciate is handing over small bets day after day.

So as stated above.  I can bitch or switch!  I intend to start throwing the same heavy lumber back at em!  Those insolent boys!

Luckylefty

Lol! wouldn't the so called 2 hander be a no thumb bowler? All we are talking about is when the second hand comes off and it does come off and does not add revs or speed to the ball.

Maybe so, but adding that extra hand just makes them worse.

Funny thing, a couple of days ago I saw a two-hander using a wrist brace.  ;D

The extra hand only makes them worse cause they're trying to roll it like Belmo.

I wonder what the next great thing is going to be in this sport that is going to allow the average bowler to get more strikes.

Thong Princess had that problem in her house.  After a couple weeks of no AC, she threatened to show up wearing her thong.  Claims the AC was fixed immediately.

If you own a speedo, might help

lol wow that'll be a scary sight if I came in with a speedo.  AC works now but not strong enough....

RIP Sawbones, one tip he gave me I'll never forget...... watching how the 6 pin hit the 10 pin...I never met the man personally, but every time I see the six pin slap the 10 out, I remember Sawbones and that tip he gave me..... and how the pins dance as the ball enters the pocket....

Xray,

When the 6 is not slapping out the 10, what do you do?

How do YOU interpret different movement of the 6 pin>?

So those of you that are no thumber's...

What have you decided to do...

Use your ball with no thumb drilled into it...Or use your ball with no balance hole...

Xray,

Must be tough on the lanes when you have to wait several days to check your notes.

This new rule was put into effect to try to level the playing field...

Bowling is made up of several groups...The under 30 crowd...and the over 50
crowd...

Now it's safe to say that more two handed bowlers come from the under 30 crowd...

And they do indeed have an advantage...

Now lets just take a typical house...And say it has a Men's  league 5 nights a week...Made up of...The under 30 crowd...the 30-50 crowd and the over 50 crowd...

Now as we all know...The over the 50 crowd can not compete...They can not
win their fair share of pots...And that is why this rule was created...

And it will tick off a lot of younger bowlers...Who just happen to be BOWLING'S
FUTURE...

Now since most leagues are made up like this...All a house needs to do is
create a OVER 50 LEAGUE...

Take bowlers from all their nightly leagues that are over 50 and FORM a OVER
50 LEAGUE...

And guess what...The over 50 crowd will once again be able to COMPETE...And win pots...

And then you combine the under 30 crowd and form your other leagues...

This way the over 50 crowd will no longer just be DONATORS...as they are now...

And this is the #1 reason why bowling has lost so MANY BOWLERS...

What sense does it make to pay $25-$30 to bowl in a league where you
can't win a pot...So what happens...The over 50 crowd stops getting in pots..

And then they STOP BOWLING IN LEAGUES...

And the houses CRY that they have no bowlers...Why...Because most house
owners are nothing more than beer bottle COUNTERS....

All they care about is beer sales...

And that is the truth....

like it or not
