Title: 308 at National Bowling Stadium
Post by: renoatpikeville on October 20, 2008, 06:32:03 AM
Recently on BR.com there has been a topic/topics on games and series over 300/900 with hadicap.

On Saturday my friend Larry shot 300 at the NBS, with handicap it was 308.

He said, "Wow. I've never shot 308 before."

Congrats Larry. Thought I would post given it's popularity in the past weeks.

Well two weeks ago I shot 300 and had 9 pins handicap (based on 220) that gave me 309.. but if the handicap was based on 230 or highest average in the league, then I would have shot more... its this just a joke.

I don't know who's leading now, but in the national mixed doubles at the stadium two weeks ago, a team didn't shoot 900 scratch (combined) and were leading the doubles event with 1577.

mumzie,

Bob Thomas of the NBS does a good job researching and verifying averages. That's why it takes so long to get paid out. So, I would not be surprised if that score doesn't hold up.

I agree about Bob. He is ever-vigilant about verifying averages. He and I spoke about that at length when I was down there. And I hope that score does NOT hold up. It's ridiculous!
