European Bowlers
« on: November 23, 2006, 08:36:39 PM »
Dear all,

As I know, there are many european bowlers here. Is it fair to pay $300 for a triple roller bag that actually costs just 70-80 bucks? I only mentioned the bag because of the large size, we are facing the same problem when buying a bowling ball. A ball that costs $130, we pay almost $300.

If anyone has found a solution to this problem, just pm me

I agree that the bowlingballs over here in Europe are too expensive, but what can we do? We need to buy them anyway..

Price example: Angular One at Buddies Proshop - $130 (undrilled)

Angular One at Pro shop here in Sweden:

2800 swedish krona = $395 (drilled with thumbplug and grips)

2100 swedish krona = $300 (undrilled)

I buy my balls from US proshops.. there are some that ship to Europe...

But with shipping and tax the money I save often isn't more than a good meal.. but hey a good meal is a good meal, no?

For a Bag $300 ?? forget it... way too expensive!

Yes, equipment is VERY expensive around here, compared to the US.
Many online shops will send their stuff to Europe happily, but the shipping costs are normally so high that it does not make much difference to retail prices at the pro shop.

One option I have is a friend who is a bowler, too, and frequently travels to the US with bulk equipment (photography). So, the easiest/cheapest option is to order online here, get the timing and delivery location right and have the online shop send the stuff to a hotel. Thereafter, the equipment goes as bulk luggage to Europe, balls are drilled here at the pro shop.

Anyone knows Mäxchen's Bowling-Shop on ebay.co.uk?

I noticed that bowling bags are way too cheap there.

The website is
