Title: 900 Global balls
Post by: Zanatos1914 on July 01, 2012, 03:01:49 PM
This isn't a bashing thread but wanted to know if anybody has really used or heard anything about this brand.  Everybody in my house and everywhere i bowl only use hammer, storm, roto grip, and track...

Just wanted to hear the good bad and ugly so I will know what i getting....

Do you continue to get the same performance after allot of games, do they sock up allot of oil from the lanes or any other tendance you might have noticed...

The bankroll was stated to move early in the lane and yes I know you need friction but this constant move core is really new to me ...  Any information would be good...

I have been throwing their stuff exclusivelly for the last 2 1/2 years.
Have had huge tournament success with the equipment.
Like all equipment if you do proper ball maintenance it will extend the life.

I would give them a thumbs up.

I use 900 Global and AMF.  My only gripe i have is they are thin shelled.   I know I will get flamed on this.  I have used them pretty much exclusively since the inception of the company.  I have had at least 4 crack all the way around the ball and separate.  Its not due to dull drill bits or extreme temperature changes.  I just wish the shells were much thicker.  I still will purchase their equipment.  Call me crazy but I have won more with them and the winnings out weigh the cost of equipment I have lost.  I just don't like losing money that is out of my control.

Thank you - I will take good and bad input because that is the only way to make a good decision...  Thinking about purchasing the bankroll ....  Still never heard of core that constantly rotates and will turn up regardless of what is out of the lane.  Maybe someone could provide input on what that really means in comparison to normally cores and equipment

I remain astounded that after 4 or 5 years of existence and many years previously have the founders been involved in other bowling ball companies that so few bowlers in your region are not using their equipment.

How blind are these bowlers? WHat else do they refuse to see?

I can not speak to the region Zanatos is in, but I rarely see any 900 Global or AMF here in central Iowa and I do not think it has anything to do with bowlers being intentionally blind to or refusing to look at their equipment.  As far as I have seen it is simply not carried in any pro shops in town.  I believe all have access to buy it but the big shops in town are either on staff or aligned with the other major brands.  I would say most of the business, for balls anyway here in Des Moines, are still bought through shops.  For whatever reason the brand is not promoted much, if any at all in this local area.  It could be the same for Zanatos.

Still that implies every single bowler buys only from the local pro shop. and that not one person buys from outside that venue. In that case the local pros shops must not be under threat from the internet, which is always a good thing.

Zanatos,

Go on Global's website.
There is a video from them on there explaining the self righting core.

I've been using 900 since they started, and wouldn't go anywhere else. Covers get super clean through the fronts, and their ball designer (Nick, take a bow.) is top notch. The src core rolls great, and is being used in the bank, bank pearl, bank roll, and green Mamba. Coverstock strength is easy to determine where it fits in your arsenal. I'm one of three people using 900/AMF in my league, and my ball reaction looks killer. I'm actually going to pick up a bank roll, Pearl and Mamba just because the weightblock rolls so well. For me. YMMV.

Thanks for the information peeps and let me know how the bankroll works for you if I dont beat you..  Most of the proshops in my area are on staff as stated before... You might on see 1 or 2 balls in a proshop and that in a few proshops..

We just dont have that much 900 Global people in Dallas

NO ONE ASKED YOU, PIKEY!

Seriously, a Green Mamba or Look would look awesome in your hands.

Are those hybrids, solids, pearls or pearl particles...?

I believe that both are hybrids. Look has the Soaker additive in it, which is the best thing to happen to coverstocks since resin was invented. With your ball roll, the look would probably work better for you due to the higher RG.

You guys crack me up, had a good laugh.

I will say I have a Purple Eagle by 900 Global and that is the most hooking ball I have ever owned. I don't care what flat pattern you throw at it, its going to hook.

But on the house shot if you don't have allot of oil it will burn up your shot in about a game or so.

See what a little surface will do for you, sevenpin? :P

Eagle weightblock would be too much for Pikey.

I have only seen 1 person throwing 900Global in the past 2 years up here in NY.  However, the Long Shot looked great on drier lanes from what I've seen.  I'm thinking of maybe giving them a try at some point to see how their stuff rolls.

All of the shops around here are the typical Storm/Roto/EBI brands, but the shop I go to started carrying 900 Global, Lane #1, and MoRich recently.

That's why we're here seven...  :P

Maybe I'll look into one of those balls that Doom suggests may look good in my hands...  My problem is they all look good in my hands until I release them...  :-[  ??? ;D

On edit:  I "Look"ed at the "Look", & sort of liked what I read... Not real sure about the Green Mamba jamba you also suggested...  Seems similar to my virtual Gravity.

Pikey, the look is an awesome looking ball. Clean, and would change direction even in your hands! Mamba would need polish though.

I'm liking my Storm Reign though... Wish I would have used it that 1st game... That was pitiful... Gonna have to retire that 16lb Shift of mine... maybe... I love the Shift... Maybe that 'Look' can give me the same "Look" as my Shift "Looks"...?  :P
