Loft much?? Good lord. Most bowlers I see set the ball down much smoother. Only time ive loft that much is when the shot was really starting to dry out. Nothing against him just to me thats kind of unusual. Looked like he was using a Storm Paradigm too.

He does throw a good shot, I'll give that to him.  A little loft, that kind of angle, and that reaction, and I can believe he shoots some high scores.  The ball reacts so clean and strong on the backend that I imagine he carries everything.  The reaction shape of the ball looks just like Mika's, and we all know how effective it can be.  More than one 900, or the first 900 period?  Believe it or not, I can see it.  I had the back 18 the other night, and if I'd have been a little slower and smoother the first game and a half, I'd have thrown 30+ strikes in the set.  There's a guy here in town that shot 856 last year.  Had 33 strikes in the set.  Down and in, consistent and clean.  I don't think anyone ever deserves 900, but I could see this guy doing it too.  I'm pretty skeptical about the whole deal, especially because this kid is claiming to have a bunch of them now, but I've seen the Paradigm in action, and you get that ball in the right hands with a decent reaction that holds up, and it's dangerous, no joke.

He mentioned going on tour, if thats the case, he needs to learn how to talk while on tv then. His style is different that much is obvious. He threw some great looking shots but the question is, how many takes did it really take for those 5-6 shots??

We got to remember that this kid shot his 900 series in a center that his dad owns.  And he said that he shot two more of those in practice, IN THE SAME CENTER.  If this kid thinks he can throw that same shot in different houses, lane surfaces, and lane conditions, he'd better think again.  I wonder if this kid could handle sport conditions or PBA oil patterns (that are not layed out by his dad or home center)in real competition.  Then I'll believe if this kid is the real deal (no pun on hammer!!)

Things that make you go Hmmm.  a 900 is supposed to be almost impossible.  Yet, this house has had 5 of them in a little over a month.

Inverted 1, you're too kind.

However, there's still the matter of executing correctly(or, close to it) for 36 consecutive shots.  Then, after you've controlled everything that you can, it's up to the almighty.  If had nights where I've thrown the ball pretty well.  "900" well?  Probably not.  Even so, it's a lot to ask for.  It's as much luck as is it skill.

In any event, he's got me beat by 66.

In the mean time, pencil me in for a trip to New York for their next scratch tourney.  I'd love to shoot 1056 in four games and worry if I made the cut.

The main thing to consider is that some out of town guy came in as a sub and shot a 900, remarking that (in his own words) he had about 10-12 boards to play with.  Come on, if you have 12 boards, it's not as amazing an achievement as it sounds.  It's not hard to keep the ball on almost one THIRD of the lane for 36 shots....If I knew I had 10 boards to play with, I'd hit that area every shot with confidence...

Even if you have 10 boards to play with it still is amazing to carry 36 out of 36 shots.  Law of averages would think that you would get tapped atleast once or throw one really bad ball.

Right...but then that's not his talent, since carry involves luck.  For all we know, the shots he missed were brooklyn strikes and domino-effect strikes...I would be impressed if he hit his mark for 36 shots.  The fact that he was lucky enough to carry 36 times doesn't make me think he's amazing...

There's been accusations of pin-throwing on these 900s.  The story I've heard is apparently one of this kid's friends works in the back and has even told a few people that he'll throw pins for them and he's done it before for others.  Plus, all of these "900s" were pre-bowled by himself and not on league night.

Now before you bring up the Jeff Campbell argument on pre-bowled 900s, his was in a different center than league where he knew no one that worked there, plus he has hundreds of collegiate and top amatuer/professional bowlers that can vouch for his credibility.  This kid just came out of nowhere.

When you hear all of the details, everything sounds too fishy.  Even if the first one was legit, trying to falsify others should lead to death or banishment from any sanctioned organization.

....I was only joking about the death part, lol

One would think if something fishy was going on that
the USBC would make a visit. Until they do that, i have
no reason to think there was foul play involved.

One point that has been stated a few times is wrong.  He bowls at a center on an Army fort so it is doubtful that his father owns the center.  Most Army bowling centers are run by MWR and the center employees would therefore be working for MWR.  Now, his father might be the manager but probably not the owner.

Ok, carry-on.

Also the guy that shot another 900 in the same place said he had five or ten boards to play with I'm not the greatest but give me ten boards and I think I could do the same thing or certainly higher than the pros

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but the USBC hasn't approved any of this.  And there is a reason for that.  They are looking into the validity of the claim.

And people gave me a hard time for questioning how legit it was right away---now there is a whole thread about it. Where were you guys a month ago when I said that anyone shooting 900 was a joke?

He throws the ball ok. Im not going to say anything worse or better about him. As far as the whole 10 boards thing...maybe I should bowl leagues there.
