Are center just put in twister pins. Have any of you dealt with them. What are we looking at.  It looks like a carry issue to me. But would like additional information.

Our center put in Twister pins about two seasons ago, this will be the third season.  The first season, the averages across the leagues dropped at least 10 pins, some bowlers were down 20-25 pins.  Honor scores dropped off to almost nothing.  The main issue was the pins seemed almost dead compared to the wood pins they replaced so carry was down.  The following season the averages came up a bit and there were a few honor scores.  This season the Twisters seem like they are mixing much better and carry has gone up.  Expect to see lower scores the first year or two.

Personally, I found that I had to hit the head pin a bit heavier than with the wood pins.  I used to carry a lot of light hits with the wood pins and almost none with the new Twisters.  After I made that adjustment, I was much closer to my average but still a bit down.

Whatever you do, don't go flush.

I have noticed over the past couple of years that twisters seem to carry better for higher speed, higher rev bowlers but carry a little worse for the tweener/stroker types. Just my observation......

From my experiences with them, they seemed to "fly" more; meaning they do not stay as low to the pin deck as wooden pins.  They almost react as though they are lighter than wooden pins.  If I hit flush, I almost left more solid 9s than carried all ten and if I hit light in the pocket, the pins wanted to bounce around and fly more.  You wanted to stay away from real skid/flippy equipment if you could help it.  Balls with slower transition and more of an arc type backend motion tended to carry better.

Didn't know anyone was still using Twisters, except a couple of places that have had them for years.  There were two generations of Twisters.  The first were used in Nationals at Reno in 2001.  Nobody liked them, although they scored okay.  Big problem was solid 7-9, and 4-9 on pretty good hits.  Go a little higher yet, and you could trip the 4.  Also half pocket 10s seemed to roll out better than more flush hits.  The next time they used the Twister it had been tweaked and sounded deader.  Definitely carry was not so good on the new Twister.  Haven't really seen them anywhere for about 6 or 7 years.
