That's all well and good but if you buy (as an example) a Storm HyRoad pearl at 15lbs the actual ball will weigh between 14lbs 8oz and 15lbs 8oz. Too much difference in my opinion. Huge difference between these two extremes.
Okay a 14lb 8oz ball is really a 15 pound ball.

I think that possibly this poster has had some very bad experience with either a pro shop or an internet dealer. They have dumped some off-weight balls on him when he has asked for 15 lb. balls. I would think that he had been given balls in that huge range when he probably should have been given balls in the 15 lb. to 15 lb. 5 oz., roughly, before drilling.
Personally, if my driller gave me a 15 lb. ball outside this range (15 lb. - 15 lb. 6 oz.), I would want him to ask me if it were alright to drill it before he even started laying out the ball.

Idk, I have a lighter 15 and I fling it out there.. I hate that!

What ball, Bill?

My victory road solid is noticeably light. I wouldn't mind it if were pearl, but typically...I am using solids when I need to slow down...added speed doesn't help!
I have to always remember to keep my feet slow when I get that ball out!

okay more info
he says its marked right on the box
If you look at the boxes they come in you will see the actual weight and that's where I came up with the plus or minus half pound.
I asked him to post a pic of it.
I looked on all my boxes and can't find anything that says that.
-
well he didn't post a pic. he says "you have to look at a number of boxes"
from that I figure what hes talking about is the variance is oz.'s on the box where it says 15lbs 2oz or 5oz. or 10oz & so on.
no way that gets you this"15lbs the actual ball will weigh between 14lbs 8oz and 15lbs 8oz."
