Title: Advice on a couple pro shop items
Post by: bigearv14 on June 17, 2016, 09:54:23 AM
I need some ball cups for the shop and also some grease pencils. I was wondering what you guys use for your shops.

I have a couple older ball cups, but they can scratch the bottom of the ball while rotating for layouts.

I have been looking for both online lately and nothing has stood out.

I've seen one similar to this in the shop I go to:

A buddy of mine uses 4 inch PVP pipe like you can get at Home Depot/Lowes etc.

Cut off 1 inch sections, bevel the edge and you have a really inexpensive ball cup.

I had the scratching problem too.  I bought some stick-on felt strips at WalMart, cut them to about 1 1/2" length, and stuck them around the edge of the cup.  No more problems.

I bought my last grease pencils through our supply house, Classic Bowling Supply, but they are available on various web sites, see link below.  I recommend the white ones, they're a lot less messy and clean up with water or rubbing alcohol.    --  JohnP
