My lesson with the best
« on: May 07, 2008, 09:23:08 PM »
So, last night at around 7:15, I'm bowling at my local center and shot a clean 216 out the gate.  Look at the clock, it's about 7:30.  I look around, and I don't see him.  Now it's 7:40, five frames into my second game, he bursts through the door: Parker Bohn III.  What happened next threw me for a few loops.

My lesson with Mr. The Third was nothing short of amazing.  We chit chatted at first about what I was looking for in a lesson(s), and why I want lessons.  So then we begin, and he watches me throw 3 balls.  Just 3. Then he explained why I felt the inconsistency I was feeling at times, and why I don't feel the weight on my fingers all the time.  Next thing I know, my approach goes from five to four steps, and I was getting pin action that made me go, "Wtf mate^^"  It was truly a remarkable experience, and I really hope that I can do it again.

I really can't say enough about Mr. The Third; he took time out of his schedule to help a Joe Bowler like myself, and to really go above and beyond anything I was expecting.  Quite possibly one of the best teachers I've had in general; very few professors I had in college were as articulate as Mr. The Third is.  I can't wait to do it again.

Pardon the length, but thanks for reading!

Well, it seems that he must have flipped around since I have talked to him last. I went to a pro am when I 1st started bowling, like my first year. before I ever started leagues. I ended up bowling with him. he was the rudest person I have ever met.... point blank. he pretty much pummelled me for not being able to keep the ball in the pocket. made fun and poked at me all thru the game I spent bowling with him. He never will have my respect after that night... Doug Kent on the other hand was 20 lanes away passing out rolling rock and having a great time..... he even stopped on most lanes if I remember correctly and at least said howdy.
