Title: Air Travel with Bowling Balls
Post by: dmonroe814 on September 03, 2013, 07:09:35 AM
When you travel by Air with bowling balls, how many do you carry?  Do you carry 2 as carry on, or do you check in 6 and have a small suitcase as carry on.  I have only checked 3 and a suitcase and hoped I guessed right on which balls I take.

UPS it to the hotel you're staying in. I'll ship them in 4 ball boxes and take my bags as carry on unless its a 3 ball bag, then they get my clothing packed in them and put with the cargo.

Thank you. UPS from VA to Reno or Vegas is almost as much as a ticket.  And I use my balls up until I leave.

BBE? They may be able to offer better services, and will actually take care of your gear, a lot better than UPS or the airlines will.

BBE ships by UPS. At least they were using UPS when I went to Baton Rouge last year. They do provide a convenient place to receive and ship from the venue, but it costs more to use them than just straight UPS.

6 balls, 2 of the 3 ball airline bags. Shoes and misc in a back pack carry on. My wife always goes so she checks a suitcase. Fly Southwest so no bag fees. Last year we flew to Cali and drove to Reno.
