Putting e-bay links in the for sale forum?
« on: April 02, 2005, 06:27:01 AM »
Why, oh why, do you guys do this?

If you want to list the ball for sale, then list it for sale.  If you want to trade it, then list it for trade.

But for pete's sake, why list that you have a ball for SALE when it really isn't, it is only up for auction on e-bay.

Do you really think we don't check e-bay anyway? DUH

I would think that maybe quite a few people don't check ebay. Last time I tried to search for something on ebay I had to weed through hundreds of "viz-a-viz" balls. Plus, given all the recent rip-offs here, maybe some people feel safer (or actually have a better chance of the deal actually going through) if they sell it through ebay.

Whats the big deal?  Why not put it on ebay and post it here too - increase the exposure.

It's also another form of exposure. Why not do it? Puting a post up on here might raise interest and price...especially since many of us here seem to be ball whores

I like the idea of the links to ebay! I'm not a constant viewer of ebay and the links do help me know what's being offered. The balls are actually FOR SALE .. I think there is always a BUY NOW price (if this is wrong it's only because I'm not familiar with ebay procedures).

It only makes sense, Duh!
Why not get all the only extra extra exposure and still offer it to our fellow friends on B.R. I've sold and traded many via ending the auction early to sell or trade to another BR menmber. Usually I offer it for a day or 2 before I list it. And its a great way for people to see what there getting. Ps its only a $1.00 to list an item if I get a good offer its worth the $1.00 to end the auction. Do you understand a little better now?

I put ebay links in here now, because after attempting to sell VERY good equipment cheap on this site, I was insulted, degraded, and badmouthed, because I sold a ball to the first taker.

I will NOT sell anything else on this site, but I will certainly make the availability of good stuff known.

But if I sell them through ebay, I'm at least covered as to how I'm treated.

BrunSlinger,

I need to have a level of security to ensure a safe transaction of money for the bowling balls that I'm selling.  I've been part of scams where I never received money for the items that I sold and bought.  I like using this site to advertise my stuff on ebay.  People can see my reviews and have a level of confidence that they will a good sale.
