Title: Another scorekeeping question
Post by: 9andaWiggle on November 12, 2004, 02:06:24 AM
I noticed in my other scorekeeping thread several mentioned the headaches of dealing with automatic scorers.  So I thought I'd see how many of you would rather just keep your own score and toss the computers in the trash.

Myself, I really liked telescores that used plastic sheets.  If you shot well one night, you could take the set home - that way even if your personal best wasn't an honor score, you still had a souvenir to show your friends.  I have my sheets from my best night, and it saddens me to think that when/if I ever outdo myself, I'll have no plastic sheets to remember it by...

That, and IMO the auto scorers are more trouble than they're worth - especially when you figure up how much they cost to install (which in turn raises the $ of bowling to pay for it).

when you did your own scoring, you could put up fences when needed...

I still have one from my first year in adult leagues.  30 clean and a 289/697 with a hard rubber ball!
