depending where and when it might be interesting, its about 4 hours for me to most places in NJ, but it would be fun to meet up with some of the people who's posts I read on a daily basis

Belgarion, i live in central jerseym near the cost so i'm thinkin maybe lakewood. There is a nice 42 lane house here with nice management and all so i might get a deal on games. Any ideas about any of this are welcome though

     Peace

I live in Eastern PA.  I know Charlest is from Jersey.  If you can put it together, let me know the details.  We tried this last year at Carolier Lanes and in didn't work out too well.

Living in Central NJ, we call that southern NJ. !!!

Yes, I'd be interested. As Michael said, last year's attempt (No, Michael, I think it was 2 year's ago) was a complete bust. He and I were the only ones who showed and we somehow conspired to miss each other.

How about Howell Lanes in Howell, on RT 9, 4 miles South of Frehold Raceway??
That's kind of centrally located. It takes me an hour, 15 minutes to get there.
Might be quite a hike for Michael. And there's always Carolier on RT 1, and Rt 130 in North Brunswick, an 80+ lane house.

charlest, i recently bowled at carolier and was not impressed at all with their management. We were bowling a JBT arrived about 1hour and 15mins warly to get some practice. At least 60 lanes open and they say they have no open lanes at the time. They said they were all taken. I look around and am like uh no there at least 30 pairs i can see. And the guy rudly replies people are bowling there. Long story short, i'd rather not go there. Howell sounds good, there was a decent shot last time i was there. Or you have Bunswick Lakewood and Ocean.

When are you trying to plan this get together. If it is on a weekend, I may be able to make the trip. Possibly bring a couple of fellow area bowlers along as well.

Heck, 98, I've been there when all 80 lanes were not being used, but I couldn't get a lane because a tournament was coming in and a league. That does not mean they're doing anything wrong. YOu and I may not like it, but not giving us a lane is better than telling us we can only bowl for 20 or 30 minutes. (If they had 20 bowlers for which they had to do that, then they'd have problems.)

But it is a very nice place with great lane oil.

Now the shoe is on the other foot. I only mentioned Howell as a convenience factor. I have bowled on both conditions many times. Howell has Guradian overlay from the foul line to just past arrows; the back end is wood. They do not oil any lanes they don't have to. We have a 26 league on Wednesdays; they only oil those lanes; the other 8 THEY DO NOT OIL, since it's only open bowling!

If we go to Howell, don;t bring any resin, no less particle. Urethane and plastic are the order of the day, unless you're in a league or your avg ball speed is 18+ mph.

LOL charlest. I just bowled a tourney there and even the lanes they did oil we hooking a lot. Squeaky clean backends. I think howell would be good. Maybe we could ask them if they'd lay down some oil for us. Since you bowl there, maybe you could talk to the management???
