I was thinking of trying a ball without finger grips. Anybody switch from using grips back to just the ball?
Anybody experiment with reverse in fingers?
Any info appreciated.

A cheese ball? What will that hit like, harder then a marshmallow?
I remember my old yellow dot (no grips) hurting a bit but I have no idea what the layout out was. Maybe forward for all I know. If I had a little reverse I thought it may help some.

No grips or thumb slug. I need to "feel" the resin off my finger tips.

Went back to no grips several years ago. I hang in grips; much cleaner off the hand without. As to pitch, try this: press your bowling fingers against the palm of your other hand, fingertips first. Then, while maintaining pressure, bend the first knuckle of the fingers. How easy does it bend? Do you have to bend the second knuckle? If the answer is not easily, and/or yes, then you need reverse (just to make sure of terms, reverse = away from the palm) in the fingers. I'm terrible on this test and have 3/8 in both fingers - I've heard of up to 1/2 away.
If it's "hit" you're looking for, I'm firmly of the opinion that you can hit the ball harder without grips.
Here's a tip; if you want a bit of extra grip in the fingers take just a tad of plastic wood on the end of a popsicle stick and apply it in the finger hole, under the pad of your finger. Not much; it will sand away at the finger pad, but it does work.

I haven't used grips in years, and have little desire to use them. Every once in a while I get tempted to try them just for kicks, but haven't done so. I used to hang up big time when using grips. Maybe the next used ball I buy will have them and I'll just slug the thumb and change the grips to see what they feel like.

About 10yrs ago I went from using grips to not. I ripped the hell out of my fingers switched and have never had any problems since then. Try it with one or two balls to see if you like it before jumping into doing all without the grips.
