I used to throw 16. Then tendinitis set in, I injured my ring finger, and dropped to 15.
That was 11 years ago.
About 1 1/2 years ago, due to a shoulder injury, I dropped to 14. I wouldn't be bowling if I had to stick with 15. Although my average is down, it's up from where it was the last year with 15 pounds.
And I'm still bowling. I wish I could say it was pain free - but at least it's tolerable.
As far as hit and carry - I can actually get through the ball with 14. With 15, it was just a matter of dropping it.
I can leave corners with 15, 16, and 14.
I don't know if there's much difference for me - but I do know I'm NOT leaving more of them with 14.
