daly city, CA Classic bowling center
also week after 767 with a 279 game first 9 and another 10pin in the 10th shot. then second game 258 also with ten pin in the 6th and ten pin in the ninth. followed with a 230 on the third.
ive been itching for a 300 i feel it will come soon. I think its just getting the first one that wil lget you over the hump. It just has to happen. dont think about it too much.

The 807 - I don't remember...
but - my high series WITH a 300 game (my one and only sanctioned one) was 782.

Had another one the year before with a 297 game. Was trying to get a 299, the only honor score I was missing for the year, came in to lite, left 2-4-5.
Knock on wood, every 300 game has given up a 700.
Key to getting over the hump is to just take it one frame at a time. Go into the nite with Sawbones philosphy. Is it reasonable to expect a 300? Is it reasonable to expect an 800? Nope.
What is reasonable is to expect to throw a strike. We've all done that hundreds of times. Just take it one frame at a time for 36 frames.

took me another 2 yrs to finally shoot a 300 and it was another set for the books: 165, 279, 300 = 744.... haha had the back 23 in a row though ;-) .. solid spare shooting over the first 13 frames

I only have one sanctioned 300, and my series was 623. 300-161-162. I bowled the 300, and then concentrated on drinking.

768 255, 269, 244 (Had the front 6 of the last game, left a 7 pin and spared it...struck to the 10th....got nervous threw it slow and left a 6-7-10 split...needed the first 2 in the 10th to shoot 800.

I bowled a 300 in a sanctioned league at the age of 15. 205, 300, 234-739.
A 300 in Open Bowling where I didn't throw a 3 game set.....and then this GEM right here in a non sanctioned summer league....171, 299, 195-665. lol I left a SOLID 9 pin on my last ball of the 299....I am a lefty after all.

Fast forward to 2002. I had just gotten my HPD back from the pro shop from a resurfacing and had just enough time to throw 2 shots in warmups.I went 200--279-ten pin in the seventh--and 267---front 7,then 9 pin spares in the 8th,9th,and 10th---another 746!!!!!!!!!!!
Personal high series did include a 300----770--with the flu no less,but that's another thread.............

my 289 i had the same problems. I got nervous, especially when the WHOLE bowling alley is watching you. Threw a good pitch left a solid 10 pin.
I'm 15, so i hope to have my big 3-0-0 by the time im out of high school.

ClutchClay - as for your question about fast feet...I used to race to the foul line myself. At 6'5", 265lbs, I didn't need anymore help generating ball speed so I had to slow down. I stand with staggered feet, left in front of right, and turn my left foot at about a 45 degree angle in front of the right. It forces me to think about my footwork by having to step over my left foot. Looks funny, but if it works...
