Vis-a-ball
« on: February 13, 2006, 03:44:46 AM »
I currently have a vis-a-ball and think of getting it sanded like to 400 so i remove the sticker and it becomes a completely white ball... than i think getting it sprayed in black... is that possible and will it last for long

thanks

You can sand it to make it white, but I have no idea about coloring it.

Why not just look for a black brunswick zone sparkle, then sand it?? that would have the closest result you want for less cost.

I wouldn't think you could "repaint it", but if you do and it works, I'd love to hear about it.

oh...I didn't see you wanted to spray it black...

I don't think he did that. I know he turned it white.

why pay for a viz-a-ball to turn it white, why not just buy a white one, they do make those.

Sanding it - sure.
Painting it - no way - if you want to use it in competition. USBC would have to approve the surface.

I did one as a sample. I sanded it to white then wrote all over it with different colored markers. I then spray coated it with a clear enamel and it seemed to protect the "artwork" that I had done.  Neither of these tactics are allowed by the USBC.  No foreign substances can be added to the surface of the ball besides ball cleaners and polishes. It did look kinda cool though.
