Are Two Handers still ruining the game?
« on: December 12, 2018, 03:22:50 PM »
Traditionalists will tell you this, yet Andrew Anderson, a right handed tweener wins PBA player of the year with one of the more "traditional" styles on tour and traditionalists are still silent. E.J. Tackett was runner up... Kamron Doyle, ROY.

The game/future seems ok to me.

2 handers never were hurting the game.  High friction environment that that rewards ever higher rev rate while at the same time deteriorating rapidly in the face of these styles is ruining the game.

The people who are ruining the game are the people saying that this or that is ruining the game. The game is fine. It's just changed. It's never going back to what you liked.

So, if you don't like today's game of 2-handers, nuclear balls and walled shots - quit or shut-up.

Balls: Motiv Trident Abyss, Motiv Golden Jackal, Motiv Hydra and Motiv Hyper Sniper. All made in the USA.

The game has passed me by and lapped me again if Andrew Anderson is a tweener.

Ah fond memories, it seems like just yesterday when it was the *&*(#&$*% cheating left-hander's  ruining the game...

Jakob Buttruff is a freak of nature. That kid's hand is so abnormally thick and strong. Like a bear paw. I love watching him strike all day.

Your avatar.

That’s how I feel watching him bowl.

He’s good. He’s effective. He’s a winner.

He’s horrible to watch.

The double jointed wrist and duck waddle but he can repeat all day long.  Nice kid from what I hear but hope he has seen Robert Smith's journey to realize just because you can do something physically virtually nobody else can doesn't mean it stays that way for long.
Here today.  Gone tomorrow.

I get your Smith comparison but after bowling a tournament with Butturff on the pair next to me the whole time it's a different situation.

There's not a ton of effort in his delivery. He's very smooth and can repeat all day long

That left wrist is going to develop some serious tendonitis

Now - Imagine how many two-handers will complain if a helicopter spinner from Hong Kong or Macau or Taipei comes up and takes PoTY on the PBA.  :P

I mean after all, a spinner beat a two-hander at the World Cup last year.

Robert Smith's injuries were mainly nerve related in his hips and lower back.  Fibromyalgia cut his career on tour short, not because he was putting a million revs on it.
