Title: Ball Care Help
Post by: carltonsportsassoc on August 31, 2003, 06:40:39 PM
OK I have been only bowling for a couple months. I carry 180avg in the 40 games I have bowled. I just bought two new balls. One Fuze Eliminator and a target zone for spares. My question is how should I care for these balls. I create a lot of spin and don't want the eliminator getting to dull. The guy who drilled it for me polished it up a bit before I used it. I have bowled about 10 games with it and it already appears to be hooking more than at first. All I have done to the balls is wipe with a dry towel before during and after bowling. How often and with what should I be cleaning with. How often can I put ball in polisher at bowling alley/ or should I? Please help. I want to keep this ball preforming consistantly. Thanks for the help! I guess what I am asking is how to care for balls? Clean after everytime bowling? Polish when? that kind of stuff.

As a inexpensive cleaner to use and keep in your bag you can use simple green. The stuff the proshop guy has is better though, Track's Clean n Dull, neo tac's hook-it are just a couple. They get the ball much cleaner than simple green will.

When you get a ball polished and have thrown it awhile the polish in your track area eventually starts to wear off. The only true way to get it back to where it was is to take it to the pro shop guy and have him use the same polish on that he did before.

goodluck
