Takes up about the same space as 3 pieces of white tape.

Gives you a nice tight feel to the thumb without binding.  Usually takesw about 2-3 games for your thumb to get used to it.

Compresses enough to give you some more room when the thumb swells, still gives a nice feel when the thumb shrinks.

Best part is one piece will last about a year of normal bowling.

If your alley isn't able to drill oval thumbs, this is perfect.  Place the magic carpet in the back, a couple of pieces of tape in the front, and you have your own oval thumb from a round hole.

Ron sends them out in packs of 10 for $20.  Some of the other similar items run closer to $5 each and may last 2-4 weeks.

SRKegler summed it up pretty well.
I'll just add this. It helped me to geet rid of a habit of grabbing the ball. When you first put your thumb in you think that it will never come out. But the thumb exits very cleanly. Give you a secure feel that keeps me atleast from grabbing the ball.

I have been using it for just over a year and I love it.  It allows a snugger fit.

I just ordered a pack in hopes of fixing my gripping problem. Ron is a great guy, he's helped me via email and at first I asked for a free sample because I didn't want to pay $20, but I really appreciate his help and respect the help he's given to the community with his articles so I went ahead and ordered some without even receiving the sample yet.

I started using the carpet last year, and it really helped with the consistency in my release.  Before I started using it I'd start with a loose hole at the beginning of the night, my thumb would swell, and then have trouble getting out of it by the end of a set.

If you'd never used it before it will cause some redness on the back of the thumb.  But after the first night the back of your thumb will get tougher and it won't bother you anymore.  I've had some luck reusing pieces after taking them out (to change a slug or bevel or something) but you have to be careful.  I like to change mine about halfway through a season just because they do wear down and lose their "pile" after a while.

Overall a good product though.

I tried it a couple of weeks ago, and was pleasantly surprised. Really did not cause any irritation on my thumb for the game that I used it in.

I've been using them for about a year and tried getting my last ball drilled for use without them just to see, and put one in because I didn't like the feel.

Great product.

If it irritates your thumb you can use new skin
on the knuckle of the thumb or you can put a
piece of skin protetant tape on the back of your
thumb. I have been doing this since i received
my first order and no problems with irritant skin.
Plus the carpet creates a nice snug fit and my thumb
clears with no problem.

I use them in all of my balls.  They won't bother the back of your thumb if the hole is sized properly (I use 1/32" larger than a snug fit) and you don't "knuckle" your thumb.  If you do knuckle, they will blister your thumb.  --  JohnP
