31 Rule.....please explain one part of it
« on: October 21, 2012, 10:02:37 PM »
I was first told about this rule at a IAB boot camp. Recently, I watched a Kegel video on YouTube that talked about it and explained it. But there was a part that confused me, which was a reference about adding 7 boards based on your fishing slide foot.

Can someone explain this to me please. Lets use a 41 foot pattern, so minus 31 we are at 10. How do I apply the 7 board info I heard in the video?

Thanks

These targeting systems really, really help on tougher patterns. As we all know, most house shots allow us to just chuck the ball to an area and still stay in and around the pocket. However, if you've bowled on Sport or watched others do so, you've probably realized just how important it is to use these methods. Sadly, you still have to be able to actually hit what you're targeting, so that's why I'm SOL! I suck.

Lookingforaleftywall, thanks the video helped tremendously.

When the lanes start to transition, would I look to move my exit point, my breakpoint or both?

Your feet to answer you question. You want to chase the oil in and slow your speed to allow the ball to read.

Correct Gene.  In my world...just find friction on house shots and work from there.  I don't even worry about a so called 31 rule on house shots.  Much ado about nothing.

Funny, it does seem to be close to working even on house shots! (the 31 rule of course!)
