I don't seem to care much about bowling and even skipping a few nights of league just go to hit some balls at the range....but ever since I posted about how I feel about bowling, regrets, and how unexciting bowling has become to me.... I've been bowling rather well lol.

Shooting a highest series with my spare ball (696) playing the track to playing the 5th arrow shooting over 750, something I haven't done in a long while. It's nothing big, but it's cool for me since I'm classic bowler type...

Also, with distal joint pain in my middle and ring finger, I'm actually rolling the ball much better prior to the arthritis. The moment I hit on the ball, a shooting pain travels up my fingers. when I "roll" the ball off my hand, it's painless and the roll is just sexy.

Anyway, strange how things happen when I stop thinking too much and just bowl....

I know what you mean.  I get on a hot streak, and then I tend to watch way too many bowling you tube videos, then go try like to bowl like the pro's in the videos.  I can pull it most of the time but 7 out of 10 frames ain't gonna cut it.   Never works consistently simply because I'm not a professional bowler. 

It used to happen in golf too.  The better I got the more of those stupid magazine's I read with all of the tips from the pro's on how to improve your swing.  The more I read and tried to imitate what was in those pages, the worse I golfed.

But yea - when I don't give a damn and don't over-analyze things and just have fun the strikes come a lot more often.

I started a new team 5 years ago with a bunch of my friends who didn't really bowl previously, but I always have fun with it.  Not only did that reinvigorate my love for the game via coaching...I got away from a ton of "scratch pressure"... And I'm bowling better than ever.

I've been in this funk for a couple years!  I'm thinking next year I bowl with my Pitch Black for the entire season, but I don't want to hurt my team.  When I know I carry off hits with reactive????????  This year the Pitch Black has been my bail out ball with 2 300's the 3rd games of sets.  So who knows, i'm taking the summer off and having fun with my 10 year old.

I'm sick of the equipment fiasco.  This ball, that ball, this surface, that surface, this layout, that layout .... it SUCKS.

I really wish the game was simple again .... a "good" bowler had a double bag containing one ball with surface and one without.   You HAD TO MAKE SHOTS and 600 was a good score.  Hell, nowdays there are guys who spray it all over the place and complain when they shoot 650 ..... WTF ??????

I happen to love the matching up part of bowling. The right ball, the right layout, the right surface and the right line all come together to beat the lane and its oil pattern that lies in front of you. It's a great challenge.

It's why I say there is no such thing as a bad lane condition because someone will always figure it out. You did not so don't blame the lane.

Too many the good ole days, blah, blah, blah  ::)
Only bad condition I ever complain about is when I get a lane that hasnt been oiled in a week, happened yesterday (practice). Dont mind using plastic or urethane as I dont expect fresh lanes when I practice (thus plastic and urethane in bag) on burnt lanes but if I can get a plastic ball to hit the 7 pin on my normal line....

Everyone has their days they don't feel like Bowling but get out on the lanes and have a Blast. You have to enjoy it to keep doing it and hope You will
