Title: Ball suggestion
Post by: millertime0299 on February 14, 2017, 10:30:55 AM
Can someone recommend a ball that has a cover/core combo that is more "rolly" than sideways off the spot?  I prefer a hard arc reaction down lane as opposed to the hockey stick.  Thanks for your help!

Depends on how strong of a ball you want.

Sweet piece right now that fits your description exactly is the Columbia Sideswipe solid

good length, super predictable, decent hard arcing motion off pattern
I will be getting another 1
And best of all.....$119.00 bucks

The Brunswick Fanatic SS would be a good choice.

Brunswick Fanatic SS has great motion in the mid lane with continuation through the pins.  Drilled mine pin down and it is very rolly for me.  Blend all the wet/dry that you will see.

All of the above balls perform well.

If I were to add my $0.02 it would be the Motiv Venom Shock.  Simply the best ball I think I have ever owned.  And I am not the only one who thinks this.

The Monster Bowling Loch Ness Monster has me intrigued simply because I like to use different stuff.

+1 for the shock.

Rack attack solid and Jackpot solid are great choices as well.

There are getting to be more of them
IQ tour solid is indeed a good option.  Also the IQ 30 is very smooth for a pearl, and is a little better for me on house shots than the solid

What about the LT 48 Vintage? It has the recommended RG and Diff.

How much oil are you facing? If it's medium heavy, I'd second the respect solid or Truth solid. If you're looking at medium light, I'd say X. X is sneaky strong.

Anyone who has never tried a Venom Shock has truly missed a "special" opportunity.  This ball is so versatile on so many different oil patterns (medium, medium-light, light, and yes even medium-hvy).
Simply put, if I could only have one ball to bowl on a THS anywhere is the U.S.A. (and I have bowled on a THS all over this country), it would be the Shock.  I say this having owned a IQ Tour solid which would be number 2 for me.
