basic tips to make ball hook through the oil?
« on: December 27, 2006, 06:52:48 AM »
ok i know about slowing the ball down to get it to the pocket and sanding the ball will also help, but was curious if any of you have any other secrets or basic tips without getting to complex about getting the ball to the pocket. i bowl on a soaked shot every week. the only dry area is 5 and out and i hate playing that close to the gutter. any thoughts on getting it through the soup?
lets face it... this isnt deadlifting or picking up women.. its BOWLING!!!! Stop acting tough when you roll 4 strikes in a row!!!

You have to find friction somewhere for the ball to hook. I don't know any ball that can hook in the oil. I agree with deadflush also, but whats wrong with playing out there closer to the dry? Try it in practice maybe you'll develop a B game.

+1 when you have more oil you always want to play more direct. Slowing down your timing just hair allowing your ball to start out on a roll alittle sooner always helps to. By playing more direct and getting your ball to start roll sooner will allow increase to amount of energy your ball has when entering the pocket. Remember always best rule of thumb is more oil = more direct.
