Belmo Ball
« on: July 19, 2019, 03:23:01 PM »
After watching the PBA Team event last night I'm thinking if you buy Storm's latest Belmo ball Pro? Motion, you may want to invest in a good spare ball. NOT A GOOD SHOWING

Eh, is it really enough sample size to give an honest assessment?

While those guys are the best in the world, we've only seen it really on one lane condition, on one surface in one house.

I thought the ball motion was fine.  Carry looked a tad tough for a lot of players throwing a variety of equipment..

That ball got 9 when a lot of other balls were getting 7. Im not sure about you, Id rather take my chances on single pins than 2-8-10s anyday.

I only got to watch the 5 minute highlight videos for each match on a smart phone. What other balls were you seeing out there? Like ones that at least two guys were throwing.

I remember the Pro Motion, Phaze 2, and the Futura, but couldn't really make out a lot of the other balls.

EDIT: I also remember seeing a few IQ Emeralds, the Big Nasty was making it look sweet.

Agree but I'm thinking there is plenty of house shot balls around. If you are going put the word Pro on a ball it better be something different then a house shot killer. Phaze 2 looked a lot better

Seems like an awfully strong ball for most pros on most conditions so maybe not the best way to see how it would look in your hands.  But yeah pro in the name makes it fair game I guess.

It's a ball reaction I've never seen before…….. Wait it's not.  It's nothing new just like the next release to replace it.

Tour, Pro are buzz words associated with control in bowling now. Not necessarily the shape you want when they are easier.

Personally, I was having a bit of trouble guaranteeing when I saw a PROmotion or something else that I think had to be the Idol Pro. PRO you could see the silver lettering (if they happen to show it). I'm sure the others were Roto Grip and not purple, not Idol Pearl, had to be Idol Pro, right? and NONE of it jumped out wearing an OMG label. Phaze II stood it's ground with all of them.

Stu and Belmo threw the pro motion all the way through the finals.   Both carried better than most.  Phase 2s did look pretty good and at least 3 or 4 guys used them.  Emerald Pearl was also used by  Duke, and some by  Wes.  Carry was pretty brutal for a lot of guys in tne finals.  Motiv probably wished Dick Allen would have put tape over the logo on his shirt
He started with what appeared to be the Covert  tank, the new urethane like ball, switched multiple times over the 3 days, and carried about as bad as I have ever seen.

100% correct. Dick seemed to struggle in general.

No one is talking about this. Idk what Allen was throwing, whatever it was it hit like a pair of soggy panties.
