Best all around ball for an experienced senior bowler
« on: April 01, 2019, 03:44:57 PM »
Been wanting to get back into bowling after a long hiatus. Was a scratch bowler and carried a 190+ avg. in all leagues. Need your advice - have had a few surgeries that have diminished my hand and arm strength so I want to buy a ball that I can experiment with and use on a variety of patterns. Big Storm fan and leaning toward the Code X.

I love my Code X, but on lighter conditions could lack some hit by the time it gets to the pins, especially if you have slower ball speed. That said, I have no idea what the conditions are like you'll actually be on.

I think a Hyroad series ball would be quite versatile for you, especially if you need the ball to get itself down the lane for you.

They have so many good options out right now, I think it'll have to be more of you judging the conditions you'll see and buying accordingly.
Current Rotation:
PhysiX
Code X
Code Black
Axiom Pearl
Phaze III
Trend
IQ Tour

Excellent reference Alonzo! I am not a big Storm guy but was recently talked into buying a Hyroad-Nano. For a big oiler piece this thing pushes like no other ball that I've seen before! This was needed since I only throw the ball at 13.52mph on a regular!

So having said that, any of the balls in the Hy-Road lineup would probably match up well to a slow speed senior! I am 65 by the way!

I'd consider the Intel solid surface.  However, if you want to stay in the Storm family--you can't go wrong with a IQ tour.

I bowl with a guy in his 70 s who uses an iq  tour with good success. Also most of the older guys in my league are using hyroads.

75 here! (OMG he's old :o) and bought my HyRoad (15#) when they came out. Loved the ball and the way it worked for me. Had the weight hole filled due to upcoming rules change. Wouldn't do anything but act like a spare ball upon being plugged (straight  >:(). Perplexed!  ??? Took it to my PSO and he took it to 2000/no polish and, "ye haw", working even better these past few days on the lanes.  ;D Good luck in your quest to find the "right" ball for you.  :)

For some reason the Motiv Primal Rage seems to match up really well with seniors. I would look at a HyroadX as well
