What is the best Benchmark out on the market? All brands
-
The Motiv guys can't seem to say enough good things about the Sigma Sting. I haven't heard one negative comment about it and I consistently read how good a benchmark ball it is.
-
motiv guys say sigma sting or venom shock. Cant do wrong with either. I like the IQ tour as my benchmark
-
Venom Shock, Sigma Sting, Wipe Out, IQ Tour Solid, Asylum, Hysteria, Melee Cross, Melee Jab, Diva Divine, Rude Dude, Score, Disorder, Blur Solid, Gamebreaker 2, Absolut Curve, LX05, MX05, 505c2
-
Hyroad (One of the best all time) Ebonies GB2 ........
-
Original IQ tour solid is still my favorite. Medium strength, very predictable. I can get to the pocket on almost any pattern with it. If it isn't carrying I normally can tell from the reaction what the best option will be from the rest of my stuff.
-
Love my Sigma Sting...also GB2 is nice benchmark.

Iq Tour Solid

What I look for in a benchmark piece is good even hook, something smooth and predictable.
Something where I can ball up, or ball down. Something to see what the lanes are telling me.
It is generally the first thing out of your bag, and something you are comfortable with.
In other words, a no frills mid level piece.
It looks like you have some storm pieces - Hy -road or IQ tour solid. Roto asylum.
My benchmark is the red melee, but is changing to the dude.
-
IQ Tour Solid is hard to beat . . but don't sleep on the IQ Tour Nano either. They're two different reaction shapes, but the versatility of both can't be overlooked. The Nano is cleaner up front and sharper on the back, while the Solid is very even and continuous, so depending on your game and what appeals to your eye, either one of those would be very good.

Tuck, you stated the criteria for a benchmark ball very well. You perfectly described the Sigma Sting. There are other excellent benchmark balls noted here, but the Sting gets my vote.

For me the Venom shock has been perfect. It's the best "reading" ball I've owned a long time. It's shows me exactly what I need to do next. One of the best balls I've ever owned.

I disagree a little bit. While the Sting is a great ball, it is not at smooth as other balls (i.e Venom Shock) The Sting has a quicker reaction when it sees friction which can make it a little bit jumpy if you use the OOB surface. I changed mine to 3000 and it is now way better, but I think the Shock is a better benchmark ball, at least for me it is.

For me it's abhyroad solid. Not too strong...not too weak. I feel the hyroad original is a bit squirty on the fresh especially on synthetics.
-
GB2 all the way
very predictable and continuous
and best of all
----$109.00

I agree. The Game Breaker 2 is a great ball. Strong but not too strong, smooth and controllable. Not a big fan of EBI but a great ball indeed.
-
The 900 Global Breakdown is a great bench mark, very smooth and even.
-
Radical Score
One of the best benchmark balls around.
