OP probably meant Long island.. ..But who knows bowling is to inconsistent .. Next week someone els ewill be the new " best bowler " in New Your.. He beat WRWJ and Belmonte as an amateur.. So yea, this week I would consider him the best bowler in NY

MJ Brian is not an amateur bowler by any means (just because he's not a current touring pro doesnt mean he's some guy that just walked into a bowling alley and bowls for fun
and the scores were high cause the volume was cut down drastically to allow an easier shot for them out there

PA is originally from NY but not really a NY bowler anymore

Brian is definately up there among the best that bowl out of NY and Long Island area
I grew up bowling around both PA and Brian and other great guys like Rudy etc.
and Brian ranks up there with the best of them
I dont think there could be a certain "best ever" from this area but Brian is certainly among them

Does anyone know if Brian bowls like that normally, or did he change anything due to throwing plastic? I noticed his speed was slower than average on TV(I think it was anyways), which is why I ask. Plus he appears to hit the ball pretty good.

Very unique style.  I'd bowl kinda like that if it would work.

Brian
has had that same approach and release since Ive known him (early 90's)
always with the hand on the knee and the short swing and really hits up on the ball a lot
his speed was a little slower than normal on the show but that was just because of the plastic
he's a very very good bowler

I'd heard that one of the 800's from this last fall of '09 was with his eyes closed. Hey, don't laugh. I'm serious.

Yeah the hand on knee is werd but I was mostly talking about his basically non-existent backswing and the way he hits the ball.  I'm amazed that anyone could find a way to be accurate or create high ball speed bowling like that.

Back in the 1970's there was a action bowler named Jeff Kidder out of Yonkers. This horse can  bowl with the best of them. Just ask bowlers like Roth and also Cliff Burgland . Jeff could of bowled on the tour but he decided not to.If Litchco is on this web sight he would also tell you how good the Kid man was.

yeah Brian has pretty much the exact same form for almost 20 years now
short backswing really hits up on the ball a lot
he makes it work well for him and he's proven it over the years

Apparently.  His list of honor scores is proof of that.  I give him props for it.  Really though, if you didn't know he was a good bowler and I just watched his form, he looks like your average bowler to me.  I've seen a couple with relatively short backswings but Brian is a hundred times better than them as he posts his shot and repeats it.

I wonder if he even feels like his swing has any height.

F A I L.....  of course you would be the feg to jock him by doing a membership search!  LMFAO
most of those high avgs are at the same house.. meaning the house is prolly very "scorable"...  helll you could prolly get that punny 168 pbax avg up to 184!!!!!

the house that Brian mainly bowls at is not really one of those "wonder houses" where its a joke to shoot 300's all the time
its not known to be an impossible house either though
kind of right in the middle
Brian has honor scores all over Long Island, and high averages everywhere he bowls
he is a great bowler no question about it
he's been doing it for a long time staying consistently good and is not a "house hack"
