Polishing Help

Hi, I was thinking about getting a vapor zone and having it polished to 4000 abralon and hit it with the beans secret sauce. That being said, would the ball be good on light to medium light oil? Also would it go to long to leave 9 pins? Ball speed is around 16 and I have medium to high revs. Thanks to whoever responds.

If you go to 4000 then add Bean's polish, at 16mph it may never hook unless you're bowling on extreme dry. The Activator cover with any polish goes really long.

Before adding the Beans try 800 to 1000. You should get all the length you need and a nice finish. By comparison, most of the balls I've used the Beans on start at 320 - 500. Good luck.

Possibly, but why do this to a ball whose forte is not this reaction?

The reaction of 4000 abralon is very close to the factory rough buff so you're probably not changing it enough to notice. See my previous post and try that.

I will probably just try it at oob finish first. I asked because i'am buying it used and I could of had it polished with no extra charge.

The factory finish is VERY GOOD, which is probably why charlest responded as he did.

just read your profile: you have a 165 average?

I have a much more important question for you and for your future in bowling:
Why are you buying these expensive balls instead of buying lessons from a good coach and practice sessions????

I'am moving up in weight wich is why i'am getting the ball. (It's used so it's not exspensive) I just started bowling couple years ago and i'am going to do a summer camp were i'am going to get lessons. My average would be higher though if the place were I bowl at put's down heaver oil instead of light. I bowl in the 200's on heavy oil just not light witch Is why i chose the vapor zone. Thanks

Good point Charles. Taking advantage of this post, Charles: what would I get if I polish my BigBang (I said I'm having success with my RedZone), and what would you recommend (sand grit and polish degree). Thanks.

The BB already goes long for an oiler. Polishing it is not advisable, in general. Try 4000 grit Abralon first before polish. See what that does for you.
