I've been out of the game for about 8 years now and the my equipment is a little out dated. I am looking to get some new equipment so I wanted to see if I could get some suggestions on where the best pro shops are in the S.F. Bay Area. I don't know if the same people still own the shops that owned them 8 years ago and there are hardly any reviews that I can find online. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Mike

Antioch to far?

I live in Concord so Antioch isn't that far. I'm willing to go anywhere in the Bay Area as long as the shop is good!

Hmm.. without making the trip up to Sacramento, you may want to try (and this is without the sympathy nod) Tony Reyes' pro shop in San Jose. One of the best shops in the Bay area. Otherwise, Antioch/Concord (location escapes me, but there was one that Kim Terrell-Kearney had when she lived in Antioch). Otherwise, Strike Zone Pro Shop in Citrus Heights (Sacramento). Gary and Leanne Hulsenberg run a phenomenal shop.

The pro shop at Delta Bowl Lane 37 The Pro Shop 925-778-1248. Come on by!
Kim Terrell helped me at this shop. Leanne is now working for Storm in Utah I was told. When she lived in Antioch with Kim both were in my shop!

Thanks BL! I read about what happened to Tony last night. I was saddened by the news. I bowled a couple scratch leagues with him back in the day. He was a great bowler and all around great guy. I may stop by his old shop to check it out next time I'm out in in San Jose. Sacramento might be a stretch for me but if I'm out that way I'll be sure to stop by to check out the shop.

Thanks Raiderboy! I'll see if I can stop by in the next few weeks to check out the shop!

Gene (RaiderH2Oboy) is a great guy. I can't vouch for his drilling (as I've never had him punch a ball up for me) but I can for his character! He also has a good selection of equipment from many manufacturers.
I get my stuff drilled by Garrett Richardson at Off the Sheet Pro Shop at AMF Pinole as he offers the Bill Hall Tri Grip fitting system. Best fitting balls I've ever had -- like a glove on my hand.
I used to get my stuff drilled by Ron Pallan at Spare Time Pro Shop at Manor Bowl in San Leandro. I loved every ball he ever drilled for me but he doesn't offer the Tri Grip.
We are lucky in the Bay Area to have so many options. Some bowlers have to drive hours to find a good shop!

Thanks for the good words Doug! I also offer the Tri Grip system! :D

I just sent you a pm Mike.

Let me add my recommendations for Gene (RaiderH2Oboy). When I lived in the Bay Area, I had Gene drill up a few peices of equipment for me, some I bought there and others I bought elsewhere and brought in. He did a great job, copied spans from existing equipment exactly and got everything perfect. He does a great job. If you go in looking to buy, he has the latest and greatest as well some slightly older peices (at least he did at the time) and his prices are good. He does a great job and is also a great guy. If you get the chance stop by.
Now this was about 10-12 years ago, so I assume he has only gotten better with age, just like a fine wine :) . And I know he has the latest and greatest equipment like the Tri Grip system and the surface scanner (forget the technical name) that he has talked about on these forums before.
