Title: Best shoe covers
Post by: lilpossum1 on April 24, 2015, 12:33:36 PM
does anyone know of any durable shoe covers? I bought some cheap ones from my pro shop, I think they were Brunswick ones, and I wore through the bottom of them in a month or so. Also, I once saw a guy with a cover that looked to be rubber and snapped on to the bottom of the shoe. Any idea what that could be?

No matter the brand, I tear them apart in no time...So I just switch shoes or I come in with my Scotts.... "slippas"

They were sold by Columbia 300 years ago. It's probably been more than 10 years since they were available. I don't know why they were discontinued. As you can see, they last forever! Now that I said that, that is probably why they stopped selling them. No repeat sales!

The ones I have now BSI shoe covers have lasted several seasons, They were cheap too.

the thing I found with covers was, that if they are too tight on the shoe. They wear out a lot faster. (That's why the BSI's lasted I believe, they are not "skintight" on the shoe.

The longest lasting ones I had though were ones custom made for me by a friend that worked for a dive shop. Out of some neon colored material they used for the suits.

Me too.
One day it was raining and I left my car lights on. Instead of changing shoes, I put on my shoe condoms. When I came back in, they had holes on them from the parking lot.

The best ones so far are the ones that came with my Dexter SST 8s.While the stitching did come out, and I had to sew them back together in several places, the soles seems to be the sturdiest of the ones I have tried to date, including Masters, Brunswick and Ebonite.

The sst8 ones did seem to last the longest. I never thought about right ones wearing out sooner. If I had an industrial sewing machine. I could make one out of some canvas used to tarp semi trailers. I would never wear that stuff out lol

I got a pair from a TNBA tournament a while back. They seem like heavy duty vinyl, very sturdy. They're definitely better than the normal covers. About 6 months and they look brand new.

They sell them here http://www.tnbastore.com/

Or if there is a TNBA tournament locally, they should have a table set up selling all their gear.

I had a pair hand- made for me because all of the commercial shoe covers never came close in size (they are too small).
