Best Team Names
« on: November 20, 2003, 06:15:29 AM »
I got to thinking about this after reading the post on nicknames for bowlers.  Now this doesn't have to be the teams real name, but what are the funny ones.  I will start it off.

Mixed league good friends of ours you W.G.A.S. as the team name it is who give a well ya know.  My mens league we are sponsor by a local custom woodworking shot and people have become fond of referring to us as the woody's.

Come on give them to me

well our team is the Burning Sensations...

but you can take the other one we were about to make, but didn't... it only works if you're from california... Fun Upstanding Cali Kids... you can figure out the acronym for it.

Mixed team name is Censored...because our first name was "not allowed" by the house.

Watch a junior tourney, ANY junior tourney, and you'll hear someone scream "YEESSS!" every 15 seconds.

Hence the team name "We Scream Yes!" seems like a no-brainer...

I still laugh when I think of "The Aaron Brown Experience"

I can guarentee that 65% of all leagues have a team in it called " The Alley Cats". Hahaha. Especially in little youth leagues.

For the past two years used a name I saw on this forum...JAFT. For the more conservative bowlers in the league it meant Just Another Filipino Team. For those less sophisticated ... substitute Filipino with a word that sounds like Truckin.

In the mid 80's I bowled in a Summer league known as the Automotive league, sponsored by various car dealerships in the area. All teams had to have a team name relating to cars. I wanted to name my team The Blown Rods but was shot down. I guess the 80's were too politically correct.
If you blame the lane conditions for your bad scores, then you had better thank them for your good ones!!

My Monday league team's name is NASCAR Chix and each girl has a driver number on her shirt.

On the Thursday league the pro shop sponsors two teams, and since we were the second team to be sponsored we're S & B Pro Shop Jr. (as opposed to Sr.)
