Last week a guy in our scratch league shot 486. Last night he shot 807. Now, this guy is pretty good, he's a lefty, and the 486 is more surprising than the 807 (last year he nearly set the city record at 877), but that's one of the wilder things I've seen. That's a 321 pin difference, or exactly 107 pins per game improvement from last week.

Wow! That's seems to be a popular number. I too, have shot a 486 set, my lowest of this season. I shot a 679 the week before that, and a 659 the following week.
The one big difference I noted was that the two 600 sets were bowled in the middle of the house, all on lanes 33 thru 38. While the 486 set was shot on the lower end, on lanes 15-16 which get an awful lot of torture from every day open play bowlers!
Then factor in, I may have been feeling bad and it just wasn't my day. It happens!

My biggest week to week swing this season (my first and only season) was 167 total pins. I would like to break that tonight. Only 500 last week. No face half full of novocaine this week.

Last monday I shot 470. This past monday i shot 777. Roller Coaster ride lol

I actually had the GM come and bowl a few games with me on our pair to see if it was just me... As i told him the lanes felt like the backends didnt get stripped.. and he agreed
No joke the lanes were so messed up, I could tug the ball 1 or 2 boards playing a tight 17-10 line with my 811c/t and go 2-8-10 lol.... 1 or 2 boards to the right..and you either went thru the nose or flagged the head pin lol... it really made for a interesting night
Even the GM who was using his new IQ Fusion has issues with it not making the turn..
after league 4 man teams x 3 games + the 3 games me and the GM rolled.. We finally got a hook spot down the lane lol...

A couple of Thursdays ago, they messed up oiling our lanes. They were flooded, and a lot of people were struggling. I won all the money with a 236 first game, by moving left, tucking my pinky, and cupping my wrist right up 5.
Anyway, our top average bowler in the league shot a stellar 119-464 series. The next week, he shot 809. I think that would be the biggest improvement I've ever seen lol

I don't remember anything big in the past, but last year I had 309 between two weeks. I think the bad week was my worst in over 20 years. A bad combination of me being annoyed at very slow bowling (5 man league to begin with) from the home house shot hacks and really bad mechanics. My "strike" deliveries were bad enough to begin with, but I probably missed 15 easy spares. I was channeling my inner Pchee - it would have been more merciful to just push the reset if I didn't strike.

My worst earlier this season was going from shooting 643 one week (low game of 203 that night) to having only 419 the next week. My timing was off and I just could not get a good rhythm going. Plus throw in losing at least 15 easy spares and it was a total meltdown. Easily one of the worst sets I've bowled in a really long time.

I shot 758 2 weeks ago, last week i shot 552. I suck and am not lost, i can't even throw the ball the same 2 days in a row.
My mom shot 300- 771 last week, this week 520.
I am at 216 she is at 217. Man i hate it when she beats me.

It went like this for me in April 2012. April 6 - 257-234-299 790 in league. April 7 - low 400s in a tourny. April 11 - 279-300-299 878 in league. Now that's a swing!

It's been a while, but I remember 5-6 years ago that the shot got totally hosed and we bowled on 50 feet with no strip down lane.
In other words, I shot 438.
Next week, they fixed the issue and I shoot 759.
Good story.

Just did a 135-253-243........new ball and much different line, stance, and approach for games 2 and 3.....
