Where does everyone usually buy their accessories? The pro shop or online?

I proudly support my local pro shop whenever possible.

I understand that. Do you also buy your balls and bags from local or online?

I try to buy all my bowling stuff from my local pro shop. I bought a new bag while in Vegas for the Open this year, but my pro shop guy was finding it almost impossible to get four ball rollers.

For me, I always go local, with a caveat.

From the places I’ve lived, I’ve always established myself with a local pro shop, and be sure to keep in touch with the PSO of that shop, so if I am ever there again, I always go back to them because they should still have my specs.

In Omaha, I have 2 shops: one I’ve been a customer of since I was 13, and one who I bowled youth leagues with. In Vegas, I’ve had the same PSO for 24 years. In Sacramento, I’ve had the same pro shop for 15 years. Whenever I go back to those places, if I need to buy anything, I go to them, despite the fact that one of those shops has a huge online presence. I’d still shop local, especially if getting gear punched up. I’d rather have that done right and easily adjustable than to have a wrong fit and either have to send it back or take it to a local PSO so they can fix the online shop’s mess.

I have always used a local shop.

I have used Justin Hromek's shop for about the last 20 years since he retired from the tour.

When I lived in Connecticut, my home house was the home of Buddies Proshop brick & mortar shop. If he doesn’t have it, it probably doesn’t exist. Has always made things easy, online service is easy & fast

Typically I go see Dannial Cohen with Striking Results Atlanta Pro Shops.  Extremely knowledgeable and currently owns about 16 shops at last count.  I have known him for what seems like around 25 years and there is nobody I trust more regarding anything bowling.
Every once in a blue moon there may be an older ball on closeout that I get online (Bought a Hopkinsville Beast for $49.99 online).  But outside of those rare instances; I continue to go to him even though I now live 7 hours away.

One other thing I should also say. Should I find a ball or supply that is rare, like an overseas ball, and it is only online, if I really want it I’ll pull the trigger and buy it online, but I will give the ball’s specs to the local PSO so he can punch it up to my specs.

I’m leery on having g an online PSO drill up a ball for me, and get the fit completely wrong. That and time and cost of shipping the ball back each time is, IMHO, not worth the cost of drilling protection.

But the rarity is the only reason I’d buy online, but would buy the ball undrilled. My local PSO will punch that up for me.

Ok so I see all of you pretty much go to the local shop. What do shops charge these day to drill a ball? How much do they charge for grips and a Slug.?

Depends on the shop, you will get better info if you talk to your local pro shop.
