Where did you get the ball from? With many online pro-shops you can pay for like extra careful shipping, if its from another person, they just didnt pack it good and there's not much you can do, especially since its drilled now. Now if you payed for careful shipping or wutever, I would have contacted them and said I want a new one.

AM not A CHICK OF BOWLING but I wanted to be in Manda's clique And why would I "saw" pins in half, THATS A WASTE OF PINS! I'd rather blow it over with my storm, and 21mph ball speed on dry shots.

The ball wasnt shipped. I had it picked up by a friend who was in the same town, then it was given to me.  I dont want to give up the name yet. waiting to hear from the seller.  he has a good reputation. lets see if he follows thru. The crack isnt in my track thats why I drilled it up.  If the seller will paay for the repair I might be ok with that. we will see

I am assuming that there are scratches not cracks in the ball.

If they are truly cracks then you should get your money back or a replacement.

Perfecone,

My Uranium had the exact same mark! I got it NIB from a reputable seller, and I had the same half-moon shape mark that looked like it had been plugged. There were also a couple of small chips. I assumed they were from rough shipping. I think that this is a Lane 1 issue, and not a seller issue. Thankfully for me, none of the marks were in the track and none were significant, but it did take me back a bit too.

Maybe these marks are the secret to how the Buzzsaws get those little diamond nuggets in the core. This is how Lane 1 gets that extra umph at the pins that people say they see.

In all seriousness, Both of you should contact lane 1 and tell them of your problems. If they have as good of customer service as a few other complanies, they will replace them for you.

perfecone -- We bought a Uranium for the display window & it came in early last week.  I gave it a cursory inspection and didn't see anything.  then I read this thread.  When I went in to the shop today, I pulled the ball from the window and, sure enough, there was a half-moon shaped scratch on the ball, no chips.  I don't think this was a crack, just a scratch, but I'm still going to send it back to Lane 1 for replacement.  Thanks for calling it to my attention.  --  JohnP

my seller called lane 1 and got them to ok an exchange but since I was impatient and had the ball drilled already, I guess I blew it....no big deal the crack is not on the track and man does this ball hit.  first two sets 686 and 641.....I ve thrown 2 games in the 260's.  I have seen carry like I have never had before, in 25 years of bowling....head pin messengers....I dont throw enough ball to see those too often, I have left 2 ten pins in 6 games, for me that is amazing.  The only thing is their needs to be oil for this bowl to be efective. I have learned that by the third game I need to switch up, it becomes to dry.  overall I am enjoying this bowl immensly.

When i got my first uranium it had a couple scratches so i sent mine back and just got a new replacement which was alot better. But since you drilled yours its going to be hard to send it back.

I called Lane 1 today and talked to Jason.  He agreed to replace the ball, but said I was the only person he had talked to that had had this type problem.  Brunswick does all the quality control for Lane 1, and he indicated he wouldn't go to Brunswick for one complaint.  He did say he would have the company president call and discuss this with me.  If you have had this problem, PLEASE call Lane 1 (800 526 3661)and talk to Jason about it.  I worked in customer service for 20+ years before retiring, and I know that one complaining customer doesn't get the attention that multiple complaints do.  --  JohnP

perfecone and others -- Again, if you've experienced this type problem, please contact Lane 1 and let them know about it.  This is the last time I'll bring this back to the top.  --  JohnP

Called Lane 1 to tell them about mine this morning, and Jason was very courteous and professional about the issue. I didn't ask for a replacement or anything, as the mark is in a spot that does not effect performance in any way, but it sounded like he would have been willing to replace it if it had been an issue. Nice guy to do business with.
