Pins ?
« on: December 31, 2003, 07:08:59 PM »
What difference dose how far the pin is out make . I've just looked at my hot rod box and the pin is 3-3.5 and on my Jekyll it's 1 inch. Dose this make a difference? ,is a bigger distance a more aggressive ball? and how about top weight should this be the same on all my balls or is the bigger the top weight the more aggressive ball?
Many thanks Alex

Ubik -- The pin out distance affects the options available when laying the drill pattern out.  For example, with the 1' pin out ball, you can't lay it out with the cg at the grip center and the pin over the fingers.  3 to 4.5 inch pin outs give the most lay out options.  --  JohnP

I have always been told and beleived that the longer the pin out, the more length the ball will have. Shorter pin, less length. The average for a pin distance is 2.5"-3". Balls with that pin distance give you more drilling versatility.
