Something less than a Roto Grip Shout Light/Dark Green
« on: January 05, 2015, 10:17:51 AM »
I have a Roto Grip Shout Light/Dark Green bowling ball and was wondering how much difference there'd be between that ball and a urethane ball (such as the Pitch Black or Blue Hammer).  Looking to use it on conditions like Broadway & Boardwalk (and maybe even Middle of the Road).  Would going to urethane reduce the snappiness at end of short patterns in comparison to the Shout?  Thanks.

Yes urethane would be smoother as it hooks earlier

For me, even with the pin above (smaller VAL angle) and with polish, the Shout Green had as mild as a breakpoint as many of my urethanes. But being an RG solid, it still handled more oil than the all the newer urethanes I have or had. I have the current Blue Hammer and what I just described hods true for it. I don't have the Pitch Black, but I feel the Shout would still handle more oil at the same grit level.
